Underground camping offers the camper to pitch their tent or roll out the swag without weather problems. During the summer it is nice and cool underground and leaves the flies outside, in the winter it is warm - with around 21degrees all through the year.

Opal Mine Tour

An on-site Opal mine tour is the highlight of your stay at Riba's. It is offered every evening (minimum of 5 people required) for guests and visitors. You will get to know all about the precious Opal and the history of Opal mining. Learn how the first miners made their fortunes and what kind of dangers and challanges they were confronted with. See the modern ways of mining and get to know how to find your own precious stones. No matter is if "noodling" is new to you or if you have tried your luck already, this tour is a must for you!

  H o w to get there?

How to get there?
Easy...
Coming from the south on Stuart Highway:
5km before the turn-off into Coober Pedy turn right into William Creek Road. Follow the road for about 1km and you will see a big blue Riba's sign on your right hand side.

Coming from the north on Stuart Highway:
Drive past the turn-offs into Coober Pedy and Monument Road. At the next possibilityt turn left into William Creek Road. Follow the road for about 1km and you will see a big blue Riba's sign on your right hand side.
